The Dream-Day 75

Let the countdown begin. Getting all amped up as it's 10 days until I leave for Geneva, NY and my first 1/2 Ironman (Musselman Tri). It feels surreal to me that only 6 months ago I wrote in my iPhone that one of my goals for 2011 was to do a 1/2 IM. It was a few days later, after I apparently lost my mind, that I registered for the full distance instead. Now, the 1/2 is part of my training.

Had a great training ride this morning at Heckscher State Park - 4x20 min holding 190-200 watts with 5 min recoveries. Saw teammate Joe "The Commodore" Biondo" and set a personal best by having 12 deer cheer...er....ah...chew me on (previous PB was 9). Yeah, you could say it's a tad monontoneous going around in a circle for an hour & a half. Go ahead, try it and see how douffy you get.

Joe "The Commodore" Biondo crankin' it out.
This afternoon, I have a call with Wendy Mader (overall female amateur winner at 2008 Kona Ironman) to see if she'll speak to the Bay Shore Swim Club athletes at my place in August. Should be really cool.

Tonight, if you're looking, you can find me in the harsh SCC chlorine at 7pm.
