The Dream-Day 86

If you want a great Italian meal in a place that any "made" guy would frequent, you have to go to Parkside. I drove in with my Seth Forman and met Marty Pauker and Al Lercher. We all used to work out together and I've been forever blamed for breaking up the group. Of course, that had nothing to do with Seth and Marty going to another gym and Al moving to NYC.

Before going in, I had to walk across the street to take in the scene which featured an intense bocce game and 6 guys playing cards like their life depended on it.

We ordered a rigatoni pomodoro entree and split that up as an appetizer. I scarfed down my chicken scarpariello, salad, broccoli, and various Italian breads easily despite the constant heckling from Seth asking if I was "allowed" to eat this or that. I had a few biscotti and dipped into the home made tiramisu that was outstanding. Unfortunately, the espresso snob was dissatisfied with their offering.

This morning, I ran 4 x 1 mi at a hard sustainable pace with 1' jogging in between. Hip still sore but didn't play a factor. The last 2 sets were pretty exhausting. Splits were 7:29, 7:21, 7:28, 7:53.

Tonight, I'm in the pool. My ripped up hand will be limiting, but I'm mostly concerned with not swimming hard for the past 2 weeks.
